In the period 1978-84, MAMŰ artists almost protestingly withdrew into nature, replacing landscape painting with "nature memorials", "nature interventions" and "lyrical landscape architecture". They seek out their 'sacred' areas and perform ritual acts on them. Such a 'sacred' area is the regular 'earthen mound' complex called the 'Water Mounds' near Târgu Mureș, which has not only functioned as a community-forming, initiating place (see: MAMŰ Mayfairs!), but has also become a 'universe' symbol of the most diverse, beautiful, complex and lyrical landscape art actions.

"Ar(t)chive glance" aims to highlight a work of art or an art event that has taken place in our city in the past decades or centuries. Its content changes weekly, so check back soon! :)
